THE Number One Habit to Build Solid Happiness into Your Daily Life


Yes, I kid you not; they have discovered the fast track to happiness. 🙂

And it’s not about money, sex or rock-n-roll (although they can be included).

The solution is old as the world, and easy as 1-2-3. We all know it, and more and more of us are training ourselves to get a black belt in Gratitude.

There is a myriad of reasons why it pays to be grateful.

It simply changes the color of your glasses: you are looking at the same reality, but you give it a different meaning. And in that meaning there is real power.

To be able to look at your life, and find things to appreciate daily is a recipe for pure, stable and sustainable happiness.

I’ve been planning for a long time to keep a gratitude log, where I jot down my daily reasons for excitement, my successes, things I’m proud about, or events that highlight my life. Been planning it and it has remained a plan for a while. Until recently.


The Universe has this lovely habit of taking care of things for me. They call it the Law of Attraction. I call it “ask and you shall receive”. As I focus my attention in a positive way and request for solutions, God responds. And Lord, are you creative! You always amaze me:)

I recently discovered this nice app, Happier, that allows you to share your joyful moments with a nice community of like minded people, from all over the world and all walks of life.

I started reading my “happier” friends’ postings and shyly shared a bit of my sunshine: my children’s lovely and heart-melting instants, thoughts about friendship and beauty, family, the health program I built for myself, the virtues of car-seat cooling during Middle Eastern summer. Things big and small, some funny and anecdotic, some as vibrant and solemn as Beethoven’s fingertips on an old piano.

The wonderful thing about it is that you get to unfold the happy leaves of your heart in a loving and friendly environment, where people are as eager to read your thoughts, as they are about telling you theirs. In our daily life it’s the opposite, where people, including us, mostly want to talk about their own precious person.


Take my word and take the time to write down at least three things you are grateful for every day. Describe them in detail and really- I mean really feel that gratitude!

I often think about my health and my energized body that carries me through the day in a powerful state, positive and ready for action. I also thank God for my loved ones, who give me so much meaning and ecstatic joy every single day!

I’ve been thankful for education; for parents who stood by my side; for never living in war or poverty; for great food. For fresh air, for my eye sight. For a deep and unshaken faith in God. For my children’s smiles and their laughter. For good old friends, and for new ones. For amazing mentors, progress in technology, being able to travel. For being loved dearly and for being able to love fiercely.

Pray for things that you need as if you have already received them. Work well and with passion, love your life and love will keep pouring in.

Stay around kind and positive people, and give power to your thoughts and intentions by focusing on what works in your life.

    This is a wonderful post ! Gratitude is such an important ingredient for recipe for a content life ! I haven’t started the habit of keeping a gratitude log yet, but planning to do so in coming days for sure !
